There are multiple risks that threaten our planet such as the planet pollution, the increase in the energy demand, the CO2 emissions, and many others. At the same time, human and AI-driven cyber and data threats, such as cyberattacks, data breaches and deep fakes continue to be on the rise. As these risks keep increasing, next generation developers should consider the impact and the effect of their business to these risks. This talk aims to communicate methods on how to develop and operate secure and eco-friendly software-based solutions and explore the synergies between the two domains. Participants will be challenged to re-design secure and eco-friendly solutions using with the Information Security and Green IT practices. The session can also be facilitated with our inspiring InfoSec/Green IT cheat sheet for the participants to keep!

Dr. Emmanouil SERRELIS is CISO as well as head of InfoSec Consulting and Application Security Services in Netcompany-Intrasoft. His mission to build and verify trust to people's services and goods, through the provision of Information and Cyber Security services. Through his research, he has extended this mission by adding sustainability aspects to digital services. Emmanouil has worked in multiple industries, such as International and European Organisations, Banking, Telcos, IT Services, Pharmaceuticals and Military, as well as obtained several academic degrees and technical certifications. He also has more than 12 years of teaching experience at professional and university level, named twice "Lecturer of the Year" and, since 2003, has published more than 30 research papers in areas of CyberSecurity, FinTech, IT and Sustainability Development Goals.
